American, first half 19th century. A dower chest in pine with original paint, having a rectangular lift top surface with open interior and right til, the case with old, possibly original, iron locking mechanism, the three front panels painted with tulips and dated 1837 in lower center, and the sides painted with striped pattern; ht. 16, wd. 42, dp. 20.5 in.
Condition:
Paint loss and nicks to wood. Escutcheon is missing
