Printed speech given by Major General Isaac R. Trimble (1802-1888) on February 22, 1873 at the third annual meeting of the Army and Navy Society of the Confederate States in Maryland at Baltimore's Carollton Hotel. String binding, 15pp, 5.5 x 8.5 in. With this speech, Trimble pays "tribute to the valor and prowess [of the]. . . Infantry of the South, a name not inferior to any of modern times, and that will live in the history and verse, as long as chivalric deeds shall excite the admiration of mankind."

Condition:

Cover with soiling and general wear, with pencil "C.S.A." at top right. Pages with toning and some wear to edges/corners.
