Ottoman Kubur Pattern Pistol
.66 Caliber. 13" barrel length. SN: NSN. Single-shot flintlock pistol with elaborate engraved designs to metal components and stock. Item shows a bare metal finish with brass fittings. Furniture is wood that has been carved to resemble a ramrod along barrel with brass inserts for nonfunctional ramrod loops. Lock and barrel are unsigned. Metal parts show geometric and floral designs. Tool marks visible to various components from original manufacture and repair. Item features a brass escutcheon with poor fit to metal and much more rudimentary engraving suggesting it was a replacement. Cock is missing upper jaw.
Condition:
Good. Bore is dark with rust and patina throughout. Overall metal finish is a gray patina with brown patches to lock area. Brass components show tarnish and weakening to small details on edges. Interior triggergaurd shows a rough finish with visible tool marks. Wood furniture has handling wear with mars and scratches. Chip to butt near pommel cap, Securing pins to forend are broken allowing it to shift. Hole in left side of grip. Split to false ramrod near brass false fastener. Action does not function properly as spring is broken.
