Ober Manufacturing Co. Cast Iron Trivets

American, Chagrin Falls, OH, late 19th-early 20th century. A group of seven cast iron trivets by the Ober Manufacturing Company, including two circular trivets with leaves in center, two square trivets with OMCo logo in center, one square trivet in a "waffle" pattern, one square trivet with geometric pattern, and one unmarked cast iron circular trivet with leaf. All but one marked for maker; (largest, unmarked) dia. 6.25 in. 

This group also includes a postcard addressed to founder of the Ober Mfg. Co. George H. Ober. The card was from his brother, C.H. Ober, and it is dated July 17th, 1882, from Mantua, Ohio. C.H. Ober writes to his brother about a freight shipment, presumably of merchandise or materials for the company, and it bears a postmark from both the Chagrin Falls and Mantua Post Office. 
 
Included also is the book Chagrin Falls: An Ohio Village History edited by Laura J. Goretta (Chagrin Falls: Chagrin Falls Historical Society, 2004), 289 pp.

Wear and consistent with age and use. Some fading to ink on postcard and toning to paper.
