Non-Regulation Foot Officer's Sword
32" single edged blade with 19" median fuller. Steel four branch guard with wire-wrapped shagreen grip. Steel scabbard. Right ricasso with proof disk, left ricasso marked with German manufacturer's stamp. Spine marked with "IRON PROOF" mark Blade marked with "US" markings with floral motifs and American Eagle. Guard in the form of American Eagle over "U.S." Includes gold sword knot.
Condition:
Good. Blade has some scattered oxidation but still remains mostly bright. No chips or dents in edge. Blade etchings are still legible but have lost some definition. Guard has lost some of its wire and shagreen has some texture on the bottom left portion. Scabbard has an streaked dark gray and brown patina with dent under second hanging ring.
