New York Heavy Artillery CDV Collection, Lot of 6

Lot of 6 CDVs of soldiers from New York heavy artillery regiments. The men appear in uniform, 3 with 1858 Dress Hats and the others with Forage Caps, one of which appears to have an oilcloth or rubberized canvas cover. Three credited to photographers based in Baltimore, MD, including J.H. Dampf, Israel & Co., and J.H. Young, and one has a 2-cent revenue stamp affixed to verso. Additionally, three of the cartes bear period ink verso inscriptions identifying the subjects: W.H. Crawley, enlisted as a private 7/29/1862 in Lockport, NY, mustered into Co. B, 8th New York, wounded at Deep Bottom, VA 8/16/1864, promoted to 2nd lieutenant 11/28/1864 and 1st lieutenant of Co. D. 1/24/1865; John M. Holden, enlisted as a private 8/6/1862 in Niagara, NY, mustered into Co. E, 8th New York, and wounded 6/3/1864 at Cold Harbor, VA; and Charles M. Wines, enlisted as a sergeant 12/2/1861 in New York, NY, mustered into Co. H, 5th New York, promoted to 2nd lieutenant 8/26/1862 and 1st lieutenant 11/28/1864.
