American (New York), 1770-1780. A pair of Chippendale side chairs in mahogany, having carved crests with scrolled ears, pierced splats, gadrooned skirts, and cabriole legs with acanthus-carved knees and ending in ball and claw feet; oah. 37.5 in. (each).

Refinished. Replaced glueblocks. One has a split at the seat of the splat. One with replaced crest rail. One retaining seat and frame numbers.
