New York Chippendale Desk and Bookcase

American (New York), ca 1770-1780. A Chippendale desk and bookcase in mahogany, with a flat cornice over paneled bookcase doors over a desk compartment with a central prospect flanked by drawers and pigeonholes, over four graduated drawers, and a gadrooned skirt, rising on ball and claw feet; ht. 88, wd. 47, dp. 23.5 in.

Condition:

Older finish, possibly original. Replaced brasses. Hinge repairs to the lid. Retains only one of the original adjustable bookcase shelves.
