** Mosin-Nagant M44 Carbine Manufactured 1946 by Izhmash
7.62x54mmR. 20.5" barrel length. SN: WM747 (Assigned by importer). (Mfg. ca.1946) Blued metal finish, polished bolt, laminated wood stock with spliced toe. Item features a folding cruciform spike bayonet, two barrel bands, tangent rear notch graduated from 100 to 1000 meters, fully hooded front post sight, and finger groove to stock. Bolt-action repeating rifle showing the {Arrow in Triangle} Izhevsk arsenal marking to barrel, receiver, bolt, bolt handle, cocking piece, trigger plate, barrel bands, and rear sight spring. Item shows matching original serial numbers to receiver, bolt, and magazine floorplate along with assorted arsenal stamps and refurbish stamps. Receiver is dated 1946 with date mark and other markings showing some weakness due to arsenal refinish. Comes with cleaning rod.
Condition:
Good. Bore is minty with sharp rifling and intact chrome lining. Metal finish shows oxidation forming on bolt handle, to edge of magazine floorplate, and surrounding socket mounting socket for bayonet. Lower barrel band shows some old pitting. Some further scattered signs of weakness and forming patina overall. Stock has some abrasions along both flanks, some scuffs an d indentations to underside of stock and some abrasions at wrist.
