Model 1884 First Type Springfield Cadet Rifle

.45-70 caliber, S/N 494396 (ca 1890).  Blued finish with cadet stock. Good.  Barrel has a mostly plumb patination with some lightening towards breech. Case hardening gone from lockplate and hammer with some minor remnants on tang. Stock shows some handling marks and blemishes consistent with age and use, but is free of major cracks and splits. Bore is fair; some darkening with old pitting. Worn but visible rifling.
