.69 caliber, 42" barrel secured by three flat, spring retained bands, no S/N. Bright finish, walnut stock. Reconverted Harpers Ferry marked lock dated 1821, tang with matching date. Weak cartouches on stock with 3rd class rating cartouche legible. Barrel with percussion conversion mating marks on top of breech. Retains sling swivels, reproduction ramrod. Includes an original socket bayonet.
Fair. Metal heavily oxidized and moderately pitted all over. Reconverted to flint. Lock functional, bore fair and heavily oxidized. One lock screw replaced, exterior lock parts reproductions. Stock with a large piece of replaced wood between the lock and tang, about 5" long and and 1" wide. Otherwise with numerous bumps and dings and a few tight surface grain cracks. Bayonet good with moderately pitted socket.
