[MILITARIA]. Child's Federal-Style Sword by Ohio Maker M.C. Lilley & Co., Ca. 1880.

Diminutive size sword with 19.1 in. engraved blade presenting a spread wing federal eagle flanked by the the initials "U" and "S" and floral motifs, obverse ricasso with the maker's mark "MADE BY THE M.C. LILLEY & CO. COLUMBUS. O."  The hilt has a brass clam shell counter guard, a baroque knuckle bow with floral patterns and a trefoil pommel cap embossed with a fasces, the ribbed wood grip is wrapped in leather and brass twisted wire.  Lacks the scabbard.

Good, normal age and service wear, small areas of lose to the leather grip wrapping.  Blade has areas of age spotting.
