.36" caliber. 5" barrel length. SN: 65457. Single-action percussion revolver with hammer notch rear and front brass blade sights. Blued metal finish with casehardened hammer, frame, and lever. Gripstraps are brass with silver plating. One piece walnut grips show varnish. Cylinder roll engraved with naval and military scenes within decorative vignette borders. Cylinder additionally marked "PATENT DEC 27.1859" between nipples. Top of octagonal barrel shows two line mark reading "MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO. NEWARK N.J./PATENTED MARCH 6, 1864". Visible serial numbers match including cylinder.
Condition:
Good. Bore is dark with some oxidation and pitting. Overall metal finish is a brown patina with some silver plating remaining to forward gripstrap and triggerguard. Roll engraving to cylinder is worn down with few scenes still discernable. Wood grips show some wear to varnish and residue on left side. Left side displays a chip to lower edge of butt with finish worn away at edges. Action is functional but spring is weak.
