MAN WITH A HAMMER & AN ELBOW RAISED

Sixth plate daguerreotype.

The hammer is where our eyes end up, and it puts this squarely into the genre of 'occupational daguerreotypes.' The daguerreotypist figured out how to maximize the space, even accounting for the oval mat opening. One elbow's at 3:00 and the hand holding the hammer is at 9:00. The man makes for a dashing figure. Full case.
