The silhouette of this piece produces an elegant upwardly thrusting line. Rie then allows certain sections to be unglazed beginning with the foot. Dividing the pot into four contiguous parts. Accentuated by the vertical sgrafitto lines on the main form and the circle of lines on the rim that were scratched through the slip with a sharpened chicken bone.
