Lot of 2, including sixth plate and ninth plate ruby ambrotypes, both in half cases. Both images feature subjects playing the fife. The subject of the sixth plate image appears to be wearing a U.S. Model 1839 forage cap, possibly with a waterproof cover. He also wears a white or buff belt with a frog, potentially holding a fife case. His buttons have been highlighted with gold paint.
Good condition overall. Cases have some wear to corners and edges, with both missing their covers. Images also show some moderate tarnishing but some details are still visible. No cracks or other damage to cover glass.
