Lot consists of two Azande throwing knives of typical form, the largest measuring 17" x 16.5". Of iron construction with one having what appears to be a stitched reptile skin grip. Both examples show incised geometric motifs.
Good. One example shows an attractive patination with good definition remaining to decoration. Other example appears to have some evidence of light cleaning. Both show delamination of metal consistent with non-bessemer process metalurgy. A fine pair of this classic and very collectible ethnographic weapon.
