Lot of 4, including sixth plate tintype, CDV-sized tintype, sixth plate ruby ambrotype, and one jewel tintype of Civil War drummers.
Sixth plate ruby ambrotype depicts a subject wearing a corporal's insignia along with a drum, which may indicate the drum is nearly a prop, as musicians did not earn non-commissioned officer's rank.
Sixth plate tintype depicts a young male in civilian clothing, housed in a unique metal case marked "Eureka" behind image. Inside of case behind image marked in partially illegible handwriting, though "N.Y.", and "Jan. 11th 1863" are discernible.
Jewel tintype has been mounted and framed with "ANDREW I. LAKE", and indications of his service in the 7th "VMM" as well as a reference to the "12th VMM Infantry, Co. B". A search of the United States National Park Service Soldiers and Sailors Database returns no results for an Andrew Lake belonging to a regiment with that designation.
CDV-sized tintype in modern patriotic frame is identified as "Daniel E Miller (?)/our drummer boy," though a similar search does not return any musicians by that name.
Good condition overall. Some wear to edges and corners of cases. Some peeling and tarnishing of emulsions present but no major cracking or other serious damage.
