Liverpool Creamware Washington in Glory, America in Tears Memorial Pitcher

English, mid-19th century. A transfer-printed creamware pitcher, 9 in. ht., 8.25 in. wd., 5.5 in. dp. One side with a print of a stylized Washington Monument noting Washington's birth and death dates and with mourning symbols and eagle, surrounded by phrase, "Washington in Glory / America in Tears." The opposite side with American 16-Star flag flying from a three-masted sailing ship. Under the spout is a smaller transfer showing the seal of the United States.

Condition:

Small crazing pattern on surface. Few very minor nicks/chips in handle. Otherwise very good condition.
