Anti-slavery newspaper containing prominent page two, stacked headlines: "A Proclamation by the President of the United States / Emancipation on the First of January, 1863." This is the printing of the Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, signed in type by President Abraham Lincoln. 


Partial separation at folds, some light scattered spots in few areas. Previous owner's inked notes. Wear along perimeter, including short tears, small chips.
