Land Grant for Wayne Co., Ohio, Mohican (Perry) Townsip

Sale of land from Major Tyler and his wife, Lydia, of Mohican Township (later Perry Twnshp), Wayne County to Titus Gordon Vespasian Simons, 23 April 1830. 12.75 x 15.5 in. Little is known about TGV Simons, other than that he was a physician, he practiced in Warren, PA before moving west into Ohio, and one of his best friends was mountain man, Jedediah Smith. Simons is credited with performing the first surgery in Warren, a trephination on George Hildebrand, injured in a horse race on the 4th of July, 1802.
