FIRST EDITION of the final report issued by the United States House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1978 regarding the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963. The Committee was established in 1976 to investigate the assassinations of both the President and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The report on Kennedy determined that his assassination was probably a result of a conspiracy and at least 2 gunmen were involved with a total of 4 shots fired. The committee did not, however, specify the specific conspirators and stated that it did not involve organized crime, the FBI, CIA, Secret Service, anti-Castro Cuban groups, or the governments of Cuba or the Soviet Union.
