Moonelis holds a B.F.A. (cum laude) from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, PA (1975) and an M.F.A. from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, New York (1978). Moonelis’ angst-ridden work of the 1980’s typified the style and alternative energies of the East Village art movement in New York City.
