* Johnson Model 1941 Semi-Automatic Rifle with Bayonet,

.30-06 caliber, 22" round barrel, serial number B5401. Barrel with parkerized finish, walnut stocks. Right side of receiver below the rear sight is marked within an inverted triangle: Cranson/Arms/Co. Top of receiver is marked with a five-line patent inscription followed by five superimposed lines: Cal.30-60 Semi-Auto/"Johnson Automatics"/Model of 1941/Made in Providence, R.I. U.S.A./B5401.

The Johnson rifles were sold to the Dutch and to the Marine Corps. The Marine rifles included the A and B prefix to the stamped serial number. This is a superior example of Johnson showing some use. It would be a fine addition to the most advanced collection.

Provenance:Ex. Harry B. Andree, Jr.

Condition:The rifle is in very fine condition retaining better than 95% of its original metal finish. The stocks are in excellent condition with the exception of 1" x 0.5" chip out of the bottom rear of the fore end wood where it butts against the magazine well. The rifle is complete with a near-mint bayonet in its leather sheath.
