American (New England), ca 1807. A portrait miniature on ivory of a gentleman, signed Brewster 1807 l.r. and framed, PLUS two other American portrait miniatures, one signed Williams 1818, and identified as Joseph Ruggles on verso, and one unsigned, dated May 11, 1821 to verso. One housed in a frame and one in a case; Brewster miniature 2.5 x 2 in. (sight).
The miniature by Brewster offered here is only the second known signed example by the artist.
