27" blade length. 10.5" tsuka. 40" overall length with saya. A Good Japanese WWII Imperial Army Samurai Sword Katana In Fine Army Mounts. Blade with active temper line on a one piece water tempered blade. This Toyama Ryu iai style officer's katana was manufactured by the Takayama sword forge facility. Tang is signed with marks that appear to read "TAKAYAMATO", or "Tokyo Prison Warden 1940" according to owner. Item includes paperwork with history and provenance. 



Fine state of polish. Mounts are in great condition. A crisp military mounted Imperial Japanese Army katana. Saya has flaky losses to exterior.
