** Imperial German Langenhan FL Selbstlader Pistol Second Production Variation
7.65mm (.32ACP). 4.125" barrel. SN: 20162. Blued finish with fire blued and strawed small parts. Checkered hard rubber FL logo grip panels. Semi-automatic single action blowback pistol similar in design to the FN M1900 pistol. Fixed barrel is located under the slide and breech block. Lower right rear of slide is marked in two lines: F.L. SELBSTLADER / D.R.G.M. 625263-633251. Right side of slide and frame with {CROWN}/N proof marks with an additional {CROWN}/V proof on the slide. Left side of with weak Imperial German military acceptance mark that appears to be a {CROWN} over a Gothic R. Second production type with enclosed breech block and ejection port, external disconnector and long swiveling safety. Heel magazine release with no magazine present. These pistols were produced by Langenham Gewher-und Fahrradfabrik in Zella-Mehlis from 1915 to 1918 with about 85,000 produced and 70,000 taken into German military service. In 1917 these pistols were being offered for sale to German officers for 33 Marks each. A scarce and interesting Imperial German secondary military pistol from the Great War.
Condition:
Good to very good. Metal with a dull matte blue military finish that remains mostly intact with some thinning, wear and loss. Small parts with some nice fire blue, particularly on the trigger bar and disconnector. Trigger and safety with minor traces of straw. Metal with scattered patches of light surface oxidation and some discoloration along with some pinpricking and minor surface roughness. Markings clear with the exception of the Imperial German acceptance mark, which may be due to a worn die. Mechanically functional, fair bore is moderately frosted with even light pitting and clear rifling. Grips with some moderate wear, scattered discoloration, some loss of color and a couple of minor surface cracks along the rear edges. Item is without magazine.
