.38 caliber. 2.5" barrel length. SN: 1791. Single action derringer pistol with side break action, octagonal barrel, and a fixed blade front sight. Nickel plate finish with rosewood grips. Includes an 8.5" x 6.75" x 3" wood case with Victorian-style brass fittings and red velvet interior. Case is marked "Lt. Col. Fisher" to top of lid in Gothic-style font and is with locking key. Item also features a push dagger marked "REINHARDT/BALTIMORE" to ricasso, with a 2.5" double edged blade and ebony handle. Dagger has a dark brown leather sheath fitted with silver locket and chape.
Fair. Bore is dark. Most of nickel finish has worn away or become dull. There is pitting overall and a mottled brown patina to both sides of frame. Dagger has some grey mottling to blade. Case shows wear overall due to aging.
