Hexagonal white clay pipe, 2.75 in. tall, with bust of Henry Clay on front, with "HENRY CLAY" written above. Decorated with columns of geometric/floral ornamentation, with "WARRANTED TO COLOR" on one side of stem.
Molded red clay pipe, approx. 1.75 in tall, of the form of Union General Benjamin Butler's head resting on the bowl of a spoon. The General was also known as "Spoons Butler" because of his alleged habit of stealing silverware from abandoned or commandeered houses in the South. Signature incised on bottom: "A. Peyrau. / N.Y."
