Harrison & Morton 1888 Campaign Bandanna

Cotton, 24.5 x 22.5 in., 1888, featuring black and white jugate portraits of Benjamin Harrison and Levi P. Morton with draped, tricolor American flags behind and an eagle with spray of blue stars above. Text surrounding portraits reads, "For President / Benj. Harrison / For Vice-President / Levi P. Morton," with "E. Pluribus Unum" above and "1888 / Protect Home Industry" below. An arm and hammer appear between the portraits, with a border of red stars and patriot designs. Catalogued by Collins in Threads of History, no. 599, p. 260, where he notes that Harrison's portrait derives from an engraving by E.H. Beckerman. Archivally framed to 28.375 x 26.5 in.
