HAND-COLORED LADY DAGUERREOTYPE, KILBURN, ENGLAND

The case greets you: "By Appointment Mr. Kilburn 234 Regent Street" as in London, England. That would be William Edward Kilburn, one of the most prestigious U.K. daguerreotypists. To get the case and the image cooperating together isn't always easy, but here they both bring out the best in each other. Blue sky with white clouds. A pink bow. Hand upon the red velvet of a chair. Classic.

Ninth plate size (image is 2_ x 2 inches).

NO RESERVE

Condition:Very good condition. The old glass is starting to weep and should be replaced or at least wiped, and by a professional.

Estimate: $250 - $500
