Half Plate Tintype of an Inn and Saloon

Half plate tintype in mat and preserver, of a rustic scene depicting a clapboard hotel with attached saloon, with reversed sign for the "Centerville Saloon" referring to Centreville, Michigan (where the image was purchased by the consignor) over the door, and an antler rack perched at the roof peak. Fourteen figures are posed on the porch and balcony of the hotel, with one figure in the foreground gesturing with his arm extended toward the ground. Unidentified, though a river or lake appearing in the distance at the right may provide a clue.

Condition:

Plate with a number of light bends, particularly visible in the upper right, along with scratches in the emulsion.  Still, shows well.
