Group of Three Brass Handled Civil War-era Saber Bayonets

1) U.S. Model 1855 Pattern Saber Bayonet for Type II Mississippi Rifle Alterations. 22.325" semi-yataghan blade, 27.125" overall length. Brass hilt with cock's comb on muzzle ring, .89" muzzle ring diameter, keyed lug mortise, unmarked.

2) Saber Bayonet for Colt Altered Mississippi Rifles. SN: 2518. 25.325" blade dated-1861 on the reverse ricasso, 30" overall length. Brass hilt, .88" muzzle ring diameter. 

3) S&K Saber Bayonet for the "Brazilian Light Minie Rifle" by O.P. Drissen & Co. of Liege. SN: 1047. 24" straight, spear point blade, 28.75" overall length. Brass hilt with iron guard, .80" muzzle ring diameter. Blade and guard with O.P. Drissen's "D {ANCHOR} C" trademark on obverse.


All about good. 1855 pattern bayonet with slightly rounded tip, moderate oxidation and a rich patina on the hilt. Colt bayonet moderately oxidized with some surface roughness and nicks along the edges. Hilt with dark patina. S&K bayonet blade with a lightly mottled gray and brown appearance and gold toned hilt. All with functional locking latches.
