Group of five percussion pistols including:
1.) .36 caliber. 3" barrel length. SN: 48. Single shot, double action percussion boot pistol with scrollwork frame and octagonal to round barrel. Bar hammer with pewter finish with two piece wood grips. Serial numbers matching. Signed on top of barrel. "ALLEN THURBER & CO".
2.) .50 caliber. 3" barrel length. NSN. Single shot, single action percussion boot pistol with octagonal barrel. Bare metal finish with one piece walnut grip. Unsigned.
3.) .34 caliber. 2.5" barrel length. NSN. Single shot, single action percussion boot pistol with round barrel. Bare metal finish with two piece walnut grip. Unsigned.
4.) .42 caliber. 3.5" barrel length. SN: 7. Double barrel, single action percussion pistol with brass inlaid grips. Pewter finish with carved walnut single piece grips. Item has no maker marks.
5.) .41 caliber. 2.75" barrel length. NSN. Double barrel, single action percussion pistol with flat curved grip and round barrels. Item shows partial Belgian proof mark to left frame.
Condition:
1.) Good. Bore is dark near muzzle transitioning to very dark toward breech. Breech and nipple both show rust. Action does not function.
2.) Fair. Bore is very dark with rust overall and pitting near breech. Overall metal finish is a dark patina with patches of rust around the hammer and along the left side of the barrel. Pitting on multiple sides of the barrel. Wood grips show handling wear with some scratches and mars overall. Dents near grip straps and on butt. Action is hard.
3.) Fair. Bore is very dark with pitting throughout. Overall metal finish rusty with some patches of gray to brown patina on right side of barrel. Grips have handling wear with scuff marks and scratches.
4.) Good. Bores are very dark with some rust and pitting near breach. Overall metal finish is a brown patina with patches of rust around hammers and nipples. Seam on right side of frame has opened up. Right side action hard while left side action is loose.
5.) Fair. Bores are very dark with rust and some pitting throughout. Overall metal finish is a dark brown patina with some rust between barrels and overall scratches. Grips show some handling wear with scratches and mars overall.
