Literature:

Quick, Michael. George Inness: A Catalogue Raisonné. Volume 1, plate 43, p. 95.

Condition:

The painting was relined and has a layer of wax on the reverse. The old craquelure is now stabilized thanks to the relining process. There are a couple of abrasions in the lower left corner of the painting, just to the left of the cows. It looks like the varnish is separating from the paint in these spots. Please view UV light photo provided.
