Fusil Gras Modele 1874 M80 Dated 1878
11x59mmR Gras. 32" barrel length. SN: 6905. Blued metal finish with polished bolt and polished internals. Flat-wrist walnut stock with double barrel bands, and sling swivels on toe of stock and lower barrel band. Single-shot bolt-action rifle with folding ladder rear and front blade sights. Left receiver marked MANUFACTURE D'ARMES/St Etienne MLE 1874 with lower flat additionally marked M80. Barrel is dated 1878 with item showing standard French inspection stamps to all parts. Serial numbers do not match. Right stock carved with the initial W.
Condition:
Good. Bore is frosty with some grease and residue that should clean to bright. Metal parts show a dominant brown patina with some light pitting to cocking piece and receiver flats behind bolt handle. Some scattered oxidized spots overall. Bolt knob displays oxidation overall. Markings to stock are weak with stock additionally showing handling wear and mars overall along with some indentations, chips to comb and at edge of buttplate.
