Four American Indian Civil War Era Tintypes

a related group of four sixth-plates with one rare military view depicting an ethnic-looking soldier, probably an American-Indian from New York, wearing shell jacket and 1st Cavalry hat insignia seated with a brother or "pard." The image is unfortunately unidentified. Two later cased tintypes show the same man in civilian dress with short hair circa 1870s with an unidentified GAR or reunion medal pinned to his jacket in one image. The fourth tintype likely shows his wife with two younger girls, all with the same family resemblance.

Condition:The military tintype slightly dark with minor bends, else VG. Other tintypes near EXC. All four housed in complete composition cases.
