** Forehand Model Solid Frame .32 Double Action
.32 S&W. 2.5" octagonal barrel length. SN: 169006. Nickel plated finish with casehardened hammer and trigger. F&W/{Shield} logo hardrubber grips. Double-action 6-shot loading-gate revolver with topstrap notch and blade sights, knurled cylinder pin, and no ejector rod. Marks to topstrap are weak and misaligned and read FOREHAND ARMS CO./WORCESTER, MASS./DOUBLE ACTION./PAT'D JUNE 2 1891.
Condition:
Bore is frosty with four patches of oxidation in otherwise dusty bore. Metal finish weakening on backstrap with flecks of patina forming on triggerguard, oxidation around forcing cone, discolorations beneath barrel, and loss of finish to cylinder overall. Triggerguard and hammer show predominant brown patina with some casehardening remaining on flanks. Grips have handling wear and mars but retain fine details to logos. Action is stiff but times and indexes correctly with loose lockup.
