Florida Personal Property Writ Concerning Slaves, 1858

Partially printed document, 1p,  8.375 x 13.5 in., framed to 12.125 x 17 in., Jackson County, Florida. March 3, 1858. Document concerns the recovery of money and personal property owed to Robert A. Young by Francis P. Haywood and George W. Robinson. In addition to the sum of $2,264.13, Young also seeks three slaves: "Ford aged 25 years, Jim aged 21 years, [and] Simpson aged 20 years." Signed by John W. Pooser, Clerk of the Jackson County Circuit Court. 


Document with toning and creasing. Tears and discoloration present at fold lines, with some smearing to ink. Additional manuscript notations on verso.
