Fine American Powderhorn, Dated 1806,

signed "John McDougall" 9" total length, about 2.5" at plug. Decorations include a hunter aiming his rifle at a well-executed deer, with his dog in pursuit, with the hunter surrounded by a vining plant; a frieze of birds and fish, a snake, a winged death's head, and a unique panel featuring Father Time and the Grim Reaper flanked by "Time" "Death" and "Old Men."

Condition:Horn with great, rich patina, surface with some pitting, particularly noticeable in the area above the hunter's dog.
