** Enfield No. 5 Mk. I Jungle Carbine
.303 British. 20.5" barrel length. SN: CC0432. Bolt-action rifle with removable magazine, flash suppressor/bayonet lug, lightning receiver, and adjustable ladder/aperture and fixed blade front sight. Blued military finish and plain semi pistol grip varnished walnut stock. Features a rubber recoil buttpad, sling swivels, wood handguard, hung trigger, and single barrel band. Markings include "M/47.C" and "1945/(serial number)" to left side of rear barrel band. Right side of trigger guard is marked "M/47.C" and top of barrel has standard manufacturer/Birmingham House proof marks. Front barrel band is marked "M/47.A" to left side. Item appears to be a BSA-Shirley M/47C grenade trial rifle variation considering markings, fluted barrel under handguard, and barrel band 8" away from receiver ring.
Condition:
Good. Bore is bright and rifling is sharp. Retains nearly half of original finish, with most losses occurring to top of barrel, receiver, and rear barrel band. Front sight appears to have had ear protectors broken off at some point. Wood stock has small scratches, dings, bites overall but is in good condition otherwise.
