lot of 7. Includes a 6 page manuscript account written in the hand of Elizabeth Custer (though not signed by her) describing the military career of Capt. George W. Yates, ending with his death at the Battle of the Little Big Horn, PLUS a fragment of a manuscript list of officers who have recommended Capt. G. W. Yates 13th Mo. Cavalry to be appointed Capt. of U.S. Cavalry including Generals Grant, Pope Custer, Kirkpatrick, Dodge and others, dated Washington D.C. Feb. 15, 1866; 3.5" x 7.4", PLUS a autographed letter from H. Heugan(?) to Yates dated July 15, 1867, congratulating him and inviting him to visit while in Washington, PLUS an envelope addressed to Mrs. Annie Gibson Yates New York City, Care of Mrs. Custer No. 55 West 10th St., PLUS a brief single page letter sheet list of Capt. Yates military accomplishments, AND an letter with Headquarters Cavalry Corps Army of the Potomac, March 5, 1864, being an order to recapture property in Auburn issued by Major General Pleasonton, AND a printed list of Contributors to the Annual Cyclopedia including Mrs. Annie Gibson Yates.

Condition:1st folds and even toning, VG; 2nd margin wear and 2 tears, still VG-; 3rd-7th folds, else VG.
