Eight Plate Tintype of NYSNG Bandsmen

A studio view of two unidentified musicians wearing the state M1863 infantry dress adopted by the National Guard with the M1864 rigid shako adorned with an indistinct shield and wreath device. One man holds a silver cornet and sheet music to the camera while the other balances a large saxhorn. Cdv size plate is late war ca. 1864-65.

Condition:Plate G with upper portion showing three crimped bends, else undamaged with strong clarity. Housed in a split composition case.
