Early Tin & Glass Post Lamps,

lot of 2, early 19th century American. Includes a steel example with wonderful clear blown glass spherical globe, open at both top & bottom with sheet & heavy steel wire frame with beehive shaped top with cast iron ring finial. This piece was made for a whale oil lamp to be inserted through base (lamp missing) & is 14" d. x 21.5" high; AND a tin hanging porch type lantern with tapered sides, ogee molded top with ring finial for hanging, four glass sides, one of which is hinged door. Made to hold either an oil lamp or candle; 9" wide x 18" high.

Condition:1st as above & old black repaint; 2nd minor oxidation, old black repaint & door glass pane broken, easily replaced.
