Early Civil War Magic Lantern Slides

A fine collection of 39 early magic lantern slides, many with handwritten captions. A stunning collection, thought to have been produced late in the war; most are 3 x 3.25", a handful 3.5 x 3.5", with two the more standard 3.25 x 4.25". Many are mounted with a utilizing a pressed paper mat often found in CDV albums housing small tintypes, as well as a stamped brass patriotic mat more typically found in Civil War cased images. These images should not be confused with Brady's ill-fated War for the Union lantern slides, but probably of the same, late War vintage.

Includes the following: Abraham Lincoln; Generals Hiram G. Berry, Silas Casey, Andrew Johnson, George B. McClellan (3), John White Geary, John Pope, Francis Preston Blair, Samuel Peter Heintzelman, Joshua L.
