Donner Party Relic Souvenir

A glass bottle with a red wax seal, containing a quantity of wood remnants from the Murphy Cabin at Donner Lake. this was the cabin where members of the Donner Party stayed through the winter of 1846/47. Two printed tags dated 1893 remain attached, one with sworn certification of authenticity, and the second indicating the proceeds would be put toward the construction of a monument to the Donner Party. These were originally sold for $1.00. Numbered 1866/5000. 2 in. tall.
