DAPPER MAN OR MAGICIAN, BY PILLAS, PARIS

Quarter plate daguerreotype in passe partout mat.

This is either a dapper man holding gloves and a walking stick in one hand, and bank notes or other important paper in the other hand. Or he's a magician with tools of his trade. Either way, he's super handsome. His top hat is upside down on the table.

Original label on reverse is most interesting because PILLAS, the daguerreotypist offers "Noirs et Colories" for his "Portraits Au Daguerreotype." With a Paris, France address.
