Quarter plate daguerreotype of a well-dressed man and woman tentatively identified as possible Creole subjects. (Few minor surface wipes, some spotting/tarnish along perimeter of plate). Housed in full case (fully separated at spine, some surface wear). F. Moissenet's name and "No. 1 Camp Street, N.O." address stamped on velvet pad.
Quarter plate daguerreotype of two young boys, presumably brothers, one wearing a dress, also tentatively identified as possible Creole subjects. (Focus slightly soft, but details still visible, few surface wipes, minor tarnish along perimeter of plate). Housed in full case (partial separation at spine, some surface wear). Although lacking a photographer's credit, this image was found with the accompanying daguerreotype and has been attributed to Moissenet. Considering the images were found together, it is possible that these are the children of the couple shown in the companion image.
Provenance:Eugene R. Groves Collection of 19th Century Photography
