Lot of 15 total daguerreotypes, including four quarter plates, nine sixth plates, and two 1-1/8 in. diameter daguerreotypes housed in a brass locket. Most of couples or families. Of particular note is a quarter plate portrait of a couple under an early-style arch-top mat, housed in a half case with credit to noted New York daguerreian John Plumbe under the plate, and a sixth plate portrait of a school-aged brother and sister, the sister holding a photograph case, and with period identification under the plate, Benjamin Pond & Mary A. Pond.
