Tiger-stripe pattern walnut stock with crescent buttplate and brass star embellishments to both sides of stock. Percussion musket with post front sight. Item features a round barrel with half-length stock and soldered ramrod loop. Lockplate dated 1863 with markings including {US Eagle} and U.S/C.D. SCHUBARTH/PROVIDENCE. Comes with a modern ramrod turned down to fit socket.
Condition:
Good. Bore is dark with patina and oxidation throughout. Metal finish is a deep brown patina with mottled oxidation to entire barrel and lower edge of lockplate. Breech of barrel, hammer, and nipple display light pitting. Wrist is cracked through above rear triggerguard with some additional dings and mars scattered overall. Action functional.
